A lovely client from my mural days contacted me to paint a project on her 30 ft ceiling. I had left scaffolds behind a few years prior, and was hesitant to undertake such a daunting project, but then she offered to have a level built just for me, by her carpenter. How could I refuse? She wanted 5 cherubs, representing her 5 children, now grown, and the clouds needed to be tones of brown and gold, at her decorator's request. I called in the help of a friend, Sharon, and we added some detailed stenciling around the border as well, and we all were pleased. Once we were completed, her carpenter tore down the level (an actual floor) he built, and we were able to finally see the project from 30 ft below. It was amazing.
But she has ruined me for ceilings forever. How can I accept another ceiling job unless they are willing to build me a floor? It made the project seamless and a joy to complete.:-)
My hubbie checking things out. He is always conscious of my safety!

This past year, with the unsurety of the Pandemic and isolation, I felt a calling back to those butterflies that had given me so much quiet joy in the past.
Usually when I paint birds or butterflies, they sell quickly, but I have been gathering a collection of smaller works, affordable for anyone who wishes to collect some beauty for their home. They will be included in an upcoming exhibit called S O L A C E. at the Jewish Community Alliance Center in Jacksonville, FL.
