Sophie's love of wildlife and botanicals spills over into this small collection of original Bas Relief sculptures, on masonite board, with some set in ornate gold frames. Bas (bah) relief is the art of creating a slight dimensional sculpture out of a 2D medium (like board) giving it the impression of being a 3D creation. This small collection includes poppies, peonies, birds, cardinals, butterflies and a dragonfly. Several coastal ocean creatures are also added as they are created. The initial designs were in a pearl white irridescence, and current projects set in bronze metallic with a patina finish.
If you have a design in mind for this specific technique, contact Sophie for a commission.
